Prestige 550 Asian launch in Sanya, China

On September 6th, Prestige organised the Asian presentation of their latest model, the Prestige 550 flybridge. Freshly arrived from France after a transit in Hong Kong for commissioning, the boat was delivered later in the day to her proud owner, who flew from Northern China with his family and friends for the occasion.

Held at the luxurious Yalong Bay Yacht Club in Sanya, on the tropical island of Hainan, the event gathered 25 journalists for a press conference followed by sea trials. In pretty rough seas with 3-metre waves, the media could appreciate the smooth passage of the Prestige 550 hull and the remarkable silence of the Zeus pod propulsion sytem. Back to the marina they praised the unique layout and exceptionnal volume of the boat, the central private owner’s suite with walk-in dressing and independent access being totally unexpected on a 55-foot boat.

Later in the afternoon, it was the turn of the new owner to happily discover the boat that he purchased on specs sight unseen! He was flying from Inner Mongolia with his good friend, who was also taking delivery of the Jeanneau 57 no.100, as well as fifty family members and friends. After a festive handover cocktail, the two new boats sailed off in Yalong Bay for a nice sunset cruise.
